New batteries for hearing aids all have a sticker on the back, so what is that sticker for? Why do you need to peel it off before using it
The zinc-air batteries used in hearing aids, when it’s time to use them, peel off the little sticker and place the battery for a few minutes to allow zinc in the battery to fully contact with the air and produce a chemical reaction to generate electricity. Once the battery is activated, it will lose some of its charge even if it is used, and that sticker is to prevent the battery from contacting with the air.
Precautions for use

- If not using immediately, don’t peel off the sticker
Because once the sticker is peeled off, it will activate the electrochemical reaction inside the battery, and even if it is re-attached, the chemical reaction will continue until the power is exhausted.
- Do not stockpile in large quantities
Although the storage period of hearing aid batteries is 2 to 4 years, they will also slowly consume power during storage. It is recommended not to exceed half a year’s worth at a time, just enough for current use.
- Store in a cool, dry place
Hearing aid batteries should be kept in a cool, dry place to prevent the battery from getting damp and affecting its service life.
- Disconnect the hearing aid from the phone when not using Bluetooth

The more functions a hearing aid has, the more power it consumes. For example, when not watching TV or making calls, you can temporarily disconnect the Bluetooth connection from the TV or phone.
- Purchase branded batteries

Hearing aids are precision electronic devices with strict requirements on battery voltage and power. High-quality batteries have more stable voltage and more power. Therefore, it is recommended to choose products from reputable manufacturers.
