Choose the right and proper battery model
First of all, hearing aid batteries are dedicated and cannot be replaced by button batteries from other electronic devices, otherwise it may damage the machine. Secondly, choose the correct battery model, there are 10, 312, 13, 675 four models in total, suitable for hearing aids of different sizes.
You can ask your audiologist for your battery model, or check the user manual of your hearing aid, the logo on the battery compartment. You can also remember the model by the color of the battery sticker, 10 is yellow, 312 is brown, 13 is orange, 675 is blue sticker.
Correct installation, use
- Cleaning: Clean your hands and the hearing aid battery compartment before installation to avoid dust and dirt.
- Activation: peeling off the sticker, wait a moment to let the battery fully contact with air to activate it.
- Identify polarity: Correctly identify the positive and negative poles of battery to ensure proper installation.
- Place gently: Gently place the battery into the compartment to avoid applying too much force and causing damage to the battery or the hearing aid battery door
- Energy saving: When not using the hearing aid, remember to turn off the power in time to reduce unnecessary power consumption.
Store batteries properly
Batteries should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from high temperatures and direct sunlight. Keep them properly secured away from children and pets. Unused batteries are best left in their original packaging to avoid mixing with other metal items.
Battery replacement, spare
It can be to keep track of how long a battery typically lasts, so you can plan for replacements. You can prepare to change the battery when your hearing aid emits a low battery warning tone
It is recommended to keep a few spare batteries in your bag for emergencies. Equip spare batteries with a dedicated battery carrying case, which not only protects the batteries from damage also makes them easy to manage and use.
Waste battery disposal
Spent batteries can be stored in a dedicated storage box until you can bring them to a recycling point for proper disposal. Do not discard them carelessly.
